About our Supervising Producer:

As a Supervising Producer, you will oversee both people and projects, ensuring the seamless execution of audio and video content from concept to delivery. This elevated leadership role requires a strategic thinker with advanced production skills, a proven ability to manage teams, and a passion for delivering high-quality, impactful content. You’ll play a critical role in shaping audiochuck’s storytelling approach, training team members, and driving projects forward while maintaining alignment with our mission and values.

What You’ll Do:

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of producers, editors, and coordinators to foster collaboration, ensure accountability, and promote professional growth.
  • Project Oversight: Strategically plan and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all aspects of production meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs to elevate the skills of the production team, ensuring consistent improvement and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to shape storytelling strategies, develop new show concepts, and identify opportunities to enhance audience engagement.
  • Production Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end production process, including pre-production, scripting, recording, editing, and post-production for both audio and video content.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all content adheres to audiochuck’s high standards for storytelling, accuracy, and ethical reporting.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between production, leadership, and other departments, aligning resources and priorities to achieve company goals.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively address challenges in production schedules, team dynamics, or resource allocation, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends in podcasting and video production to inform strategic decisions and keep content innovative and relevant.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in podcast or multimedia production, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Communications, Broadcasting, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a team while maintaining accountability and driving results.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of audio and video editing tools (e.g., GarageBand, Descript, DaVinci Resolve) and familiarity with content management and distribution platforms (e.g., Simplecast, Megaphone, YouTube).
  • Project Management: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with experience in managing complex production schedules and cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to think strategically and contribute to high-level content development and audience engagement strategies.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and the ability to pivot quickly when priorities shift.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Passion for Storytelling: Deep knowledge of and respect for true crime storytelling, victim advocacy, and ethical reporting.
