Job Description:
In the heart of Willow Creek in West Side Paso Robles, Clos Solène is a family-owned boutique Estate on a 27-acres property producing 5,000 cases per year. Our acclaimed estate welcomes guests with upscale seated tasting experiences by reservation only. With our expected growth and upcoming expansion, we are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic full-time Tasting Room Manager to lead and elevate our hospitality operations. This role is pivotal in creating memorable experiences for guests, cultivating a high-performing team, and contributing to the overall growth of Clos Solène. This is a key position within our organization and will report directly to our General Manager and ownership.
Clos Solène has been recently showcased in SF Chronicle and continues to garner high scores from the wine industry most respected publications. In addition, we are breaking ground imminently on a stunning 19,000sq ft state of the art underground cellar as well as a hospitality center encompassing four tasting suites located in the vineyards, a Member only VIP cellar experience and a vintage library.
Key Responsibilities:
Hospitality Leadership:
- Oversee all aspects of the tasting room experience, ensuring exceptional service and consistent alignment with the Clos Solène brand. Address in timely fashion guest feedbacks.
- Develop & implement hospitality standards to create memorable guest interactions.
- Cultivate a welcoming environment, fostering relationships with guest & members.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor tasting room talents, focusing on building a high-performing team.
- Schedule and manage staff to optimize coverage and efficiency and deliver outstanding hospitality.
- Lead by example to maintain a motivated and professional team environment.
Sales & Wine Club Promotion:
- Drive tasting room sales, upsell wine packages, and promote wine club memberships.
- Develop and execute strategies to meet revenue and membership goals.
- Partner with the Wine Club Manager to create seamless transitions from guests to members.
Operational Excellence:
- Manage daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management and data accuracy.
- Oversee tasting room supplies, ensuring availability and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and protocols in compliance with company standards.
Events Management:
- Collaborate with the events team to host and execute wine club and public events.
- Ensure all tasting room experiences during events reflect the Clos Solène standard.
Data & Reporting:
- Track and analyze KPIs such as average order value, conversion rates, and guest feedback.
- Provide regular updates to the General Manager on performance and areas of opportunity.
Marketing & Guest Communication:
- Collaborate with marketing to promote special offerings, events, and seasonal campaigns.
- Engage with guests through email and social media to drive repeat visits and sales.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years min. of hospitality manager, tasting room manager, or related management experience in the wine industry.
- Proven track record in team leadership, sales, and customer service.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS/CRM systems (e.g., Commerce7, Tock, Excel, Enolytics, Adobe Suite, Wine Direct, G-suite), and inventory management.
- Passion for wine, with advanced knowledge of wine production and tasting (WSET certification or similar is a plus).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work schedule includes weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings for events.
Compensation:
· Full-time Salary Range: $68,650 - $80,000 based on experience, including bonus variable
