SHORT DESCRIPTION

NorthStar Group Services is seeking a Technical and Marketing Coordinator to create and edit technical documents and marketing materials, support RFP/RFQ efforts, and contribute to high-quality deliverables in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Our Florida operations, operating as NorthStar Contracting Group, Inc. and NorthStar I&E, Inc., leading provider of engineering, environmental consulting and construction, and program management services that enhance the infrastructure and environment throughout Florida. With offices located in Tampa, Tallahassee, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, we serve multiple State agencies, various municipalities and numerous private sector clients throughout the region. These operation centers specialize in civil and environmental engineering with a focus on water resource engineering, environmental restoration and land protection. NorthStar is actively seeking to expand our Tampa team through the hiring of a Technical and Marketing Coordinator.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Compose (write, rewrite and/or edit) technical documents including user manuals, training materials, marketing materials, proposals and technical reports. Technical reports range from multi-chapter, multivolume reports to simple memoranda and letters.

· Offer editing support to technical staff on a wide array of content, including environmental reports, letters and memoranda, marketing proposals, permitting documents, engineering specifications, and client presentations.

· While assisting in the development, organization, and finalization of deliverables, edit for clarity, accuracy, tone, completeness, and consistency. Also add quality in document design, ensuring that our products adhere to formatting standards and brand guidelines.

· While supporting marketing efforts, routinely review Requests for Proposals (RFP) or Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), develop draft outlines and assignment matrices based on those requests, compile applicable company text, and assist with developing winning themes and completing all necessary RFP/RFQ requirements, which could require coordination with other departments and subconsultants.

· When working on project work and marketing efforts, actively participate in the planning, tracking, editing and formatting, reviewing, producing, and coordinating delivery of time-sensitive materials.

· Design and produce complex internal and external marketing and communication materials primarily for qualifications statements, proposals, and presentations, but also including logos, managing graphics and photography databases, brochures, invitations, promotional materials, posters, and executive summaries. Video editing skills a plus.

· Edit and format large and small reports (usually containing text, tables, maps and other graphics, and appendices) for correctness, completeness, organization, clarity, consistency, grammar, and conformity with NorthStar or client style guidelines.

· Play a key role in developing and maintaining writing guidelines and standards for the firm.

· Prepare graphics for proposal (i.e., headers, footers, covers, organizational charts, tables/matrices, and infographics).

· Create and update employee resumes and project descriptions.

· Perform self-check of work products to eliminate repeat errors and demonstrate continuous improvement in work products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Specialized education and/or experience requirements: Bachelor degree in STEM field with Master’s degree or post-graduate certificate in Technical Communication preferred. If candidate does not possess Master’s degree or post-graduate certificate, they must have a minimum of three (3) years in proposal/technical writing. Experience must be recent within the last three (3) years of employment.

· Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the fields of civil and environmental engineering and environmental science. Prefer experience in the construction and or engineering industry — civil engineering design, construction management, construction administration and inspection.

· Prefer member of Society for Marketing Professional Services (SPMS) and/or Society for Technical Communication (STC).

· Demonstrated written, verbal, motivational and interpersonal communication skills.

· Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud InDesign (Photoshop and Illustrator).

· Website maintenance and social media experience a plus.

· Experienced, flexible and ability to work in a fast-pace environment.

· Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.

· Work and coordinate independently with project managers and various pursuit managers.

· Assist and coordinate administrative tasks with Marketing Department co-workers.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week WFH during business hours with limited in-office hours at our Riverview office as-needed), with occasional evening, weekend, and overtime work when deadlines demand. Some travel may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
