Job Title: Temporary Department of Communication Social Media Manager


This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 12-months. This position is part-time and limited to no more than an average of 30 hours a week in a twelve-month period.

Job Summary:


This role offers a dynamic and creative opportunity to shape the digital presence of

CU Denver’s Department of Communication, a leader in fostering innovative and

inclusive education. By managing and growing the department’s social media

channels, you will play a critical role in increasing awareness of our BA, MA, and

certificate programs, as well as highlighting our vibrant academic community. You’ll

collaborate with faculty, staff, and other university offices to craft engaging content

and implement cutting-edge strategies that make a tangible impact on prospective

students and stakeholders. This position is approximately 15 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Department Social Media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn) to increase awareness of the Department’s BA, MA, and certificate programs and drive requests for information
  • Create original content (text, images, photos) for social media platforms that conform to CU Denver brand guidelines
  • Schedule daily content creation and postings (7 days per week) in accordance with CU Denver events and opportunities
  • Respond to comments from users
  • Monitor site metrics to develop message strategy
  • Coordinate with the members of the Department and other CU Denver offices to maximize effectiveness
  • Report on social media metrics in writing and verbally at monthly staff meetings


Work Location:


Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1 day per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Anticipated Pay Range:


The hiring rate for this position has been established at $22.00 / hour. The above

salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate

at the time of posting.
