Description & Requirements The Vice President of External Communications will report to the SVP of Global Communications and will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance the company’s brand and reputation through effective media relations, social media, and multi-media initiatives.

The VP will develop strategies for effective global media relations, including overseeing press announcements, ensuring Infor’s voice in market-leading conversations, and cultivating relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, especially with top tier industry / trade publications across all geographies. The VP will also lead social media campaigns across all channels, ensuring alignment with broader business goals, working closely with field marketing to ensure targeted strategy consistent with the GTM plan. A key focus will be to drive consistent, compelling messaging across all external channels to increase Infor’s visibility and engagement.

A day in the life typically includes:

  • Develop and implement an integrated external communications strategy to support the company’s overall business objectives. Ensure consistent and cohesive messaging across media relations, social media, and other external-facing platforms, including but not limited to blogs and bylines.
  • Lead the PR function by building strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to enhance the company's profile. Proactively manage and respond to media inquiries, ensuring positive media coverage and effective message delivery. Support the development and maintenance of a crisis communications plan as well as play a key role on the Crisis Management Team.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the company’s social media strategy, ensuring alignment with broader communications goals. Manage social media channels, fostering engagement and driving brand awareness through innovative, data-driven campaigns.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to position key executives as industry thought leaders, managing media opportunities, speaking engagements, and editorial placements.
  • Supervise the creation of compelling, brand-aligned content for external communications, including press releases, blog posts, social media posts, and multimedia assets. Ensure messaging consistency and tone across all public-facing materials.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders including media, industry stakeholders, and influencers to amplify the company’s message and reach. Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure message alignment across initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 6 communications professionals, ensuring growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required skills:

  • Extensive leadership experience in developing and executing end-to-end external communications, media relations and social media strategies.
  • Proven success in building and executing PR campaigns that drive media coverage, enhance brand reputation, and align to company campaign initiatives.
  • Expertise in effectively utilizing social media platforms and knowledge of social media analytics.
  • Excellent media relations skills with an established network of media contacts.
  • Experience managing crisis communications and protecting brand reputation during critical situations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, manage, and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
