SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Video Lead is responsible for dynamic video content creation at Legrand, overseeing production from planning to distribution while collaborating with various teams to produce high-quality marketing and informational videos.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Video Lead is a key role within the Creative Team, responsible for leading video production efforts across Legrand | AV and the Commercial and Resi CI brands. This role is responsible for creating dynamic and innovative content supporting marketing, training, and informational videos for use on websites, advertising, social media channels, and other platforms. This position oversees planning, shooting, post-production, and distribution of video content while meeting quality, aesthetic, brand, and creative specifications outlined by marketing and creative teams. This individual ensures adherence to budgets, specifications, and timelines while collaborating with technical specialists and operators for camera, sound, and lighting needs.
This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Creative Director. This role can either work hybrid in our Eden Prairie, MN office or work remotely within 50 miles of our Eden Prairie, MN office.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Drive the development of storyboards, script supervision, directing talent, and monitoring for visual consistency.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on production timelines, set selection, talent, and storyline development tailored to specific distribution channels.
  • Organize, edit, and color-grade footage to create compelling video content.
  • Record and process audio for voice-overs and sound effects, mixing them with music to produce a polished final product.
  • Use Brand Guidelines as references for video look, feel, graphics creation, voice, and talent direction.
  • Manage the storage, setup, and maintenance of studio equipment, including props and general tools.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, eCommerce, and Product Management teams to create video strategies and content.
  • Work directly with Executive Leadership on corporate communications video needs.
  • Coordinate video projects with team members and mentor those interested in motion graphics and video production.
  • Own the video process and communicate effectively with marketing team members.
  • Visualize concepts into storyboards and final products, enhancing footage creatively for dynamic and innovative content.
  • Collaborate on set design, including set alterations when needed.
  • Contribute to ideation, casting, and scriptwriting during the pre-production phase.
  • Assist in setting up and managing a studio space for recording product and informational videos.
  • Oversee off-site shoot setup and participate in location selection.
  • Function as a camera operator on limited projects as needed.
  • Stay updated on video production trends, editing techniques, and social media content strategies.
  • Make recommendations for video hosting services and coordinate captioning, when applicable.
  • Organize and create reusable assets for video content.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Expert in video production (filming, editing, audio).
  • Knowledge of social media, videography, and video editing for platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop).
  • Experience operating a variety of cameras, lenses, and support equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of lighting techniques, flagging, and diffusion.
  • Strong storytelling abilities and the capacity to communicate complex ideas through a visual medium.
  • Experience rigging sets.
  • Skilled at directing talent and ensuring visual creativity and presentation.
  • Ability to take on multiple projects, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Certificate, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent software.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital media production, editing, and distribution.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for most the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Comfortable using general tools and power tools to perform product set-up and demonstrations as needed
  • General office environment
  • May require regular ground travel to other company facilities
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 10% travel
