Our VP of Sales & Marketing is critical in advancing AORN’s mission, expanding influence, and driving revenue through strategic collaborations and effective marketing strategies. This role oversees the operational and financial success of the AORN Foundation, Pfiedler Education, Industry Sales and the Marketing team, and manages strategic relations with key healthcare stakeholders.
AORN is based in Denver, CO. Our VP of Sales & Marketing will work remotely.

Strategic Leadership and Relationship Management
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with healthcare providers and medical device manufactures. Ensures acknowledgement of impact of their support.
- Lead contract negotiations with prospective partners, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and legal requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with strategic partners, acting as the primary liaison and nurturing long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Industry Sales, Marketing, Nursing Education) to ensure alignment and effective execution of partnership initiatives consistent with strategic plan.
Marketing and Sales
- Create and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote AORN’s products, programs, and events.
- Integrate sales and marketing efforts, optimize campaigns, and measure performance against key metrics.
- Stay current on healthcare market trends and conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities.
Foundation and Corporate Council Management
- Ensure the AORN Foundation achieves its strategic goals through collaboration and alignment with the organization’s mission.
- Work with the Foundation Nominating Committee and Board of Trustees to develop and implement financial and strategic expansion strategies.
- Manage the Foundation Corporate Council, including developing processes, frameworks, and metrics to oversee its impact.
- Prepare reports and materials for the Board of Trustees, ensuring transparency of financial and strategic progress.
Operational and Financial Management
- Oversee the direction and coordination of approved programs, projects, and major activities of staff.
- Generate reports and presentations to provide insights into performance including key metrics and milestones.
- Develop and implement effective growth strategies, including the cultivation of new markets and partnerships.
- Leads and manages partnerships with outsourced industry related sales.
Representation and Advocacy
- Represent AORN at networking events, conferences, and meetings to identify funding opportunities and promote the organization’s work.
- Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for Pfiedler Education and AORN Inc.
Team Leadership
- Hire, retain, and develop a talented and engaged staff, ensuring optimal utilization of staff talent.
Must Have’s to be our VP of Sales & Marketing:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in business management, nonprofit management or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing senior-level client relations, business development or nonprofit management in the healthcare industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing boards and volunteers.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing direct reports.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in nonprofit fundraising.
- Previous experience with healthcare marketing.
- Solid understanding of the healthcare market landscape, including key players, trends, and regulatory environment.
- Extensive network in relevant industries with the ability to make connections and build relationships with potential partners.
- Previous experience working in hospital/healthcare systems, medical device industry and/or surgical services industry.
- Experience developing and overseeing a budget.

- Competitive salary, for this role our salary range is $290,000 - $315,000 + an annualized target incentive of $60,000.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Remote work environment, using a computer, telephone and other office equipment daily. Attendance at scheduled meetings as required. Ability to travel as needed to support business development and Association functions.
