SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Web Content Specialist is responsible for managing digital content to ensure a consistent brand message and promoting student success through various online platforms under the direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Edits, maintains and publishes content for webpages, social media and other digital marketing efforts, with a strong preference for experience with WordPress.
- Writes, edits and proofreads marketing materials, ensuring alignment with AP style and college branding guidelines.
- Posts, coordinates, monitors and follows up with social media content on the college’s branded accounts.
- Develops and implements the college’s overall social media strategy and works with college clients to ensure the best use of social media.
- Guides, coordinates and mentors content contributors with various levels of familiarity with web and social media practices.
- Collaborates with various departments and clients to develop marketing strategies and campaigns, ensuring the completion of projects that support enrollment and brand enhancement goals.
- Interprets and applies web data and social media insights to improve the website, digital marketing, social media, etc.
- Assures quality of the college’s digital presences by identifying and fixing issues.
- Ensures proper use of the college’s branding and style guidelines across digital platforms.
- Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns, including web traffic and ad performance, and provides insights to optimize strategies and ROI.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience required, preferably within higher education.

- Strong communicator with solid writing and editing skills; knowledge of AP style
- Experience with content management systems, preferably WordPress
- Familiar with HTML, web development and design principles
- Experience with digital marketing and search engine optimization (SEO)
- Experience administering social media brand pages with knowledge of best practices
- Self-starter who can solve problems, manage multiple projects at once and track timelines effectively
- Must be able to work quickly under deadlines and follow through on assignments
- Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, community members and vendors
- Demonstrated collaboration and creativity skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
