Minimal Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Business, Communication, Education, Engineering, or related fields;
  • Two (2) years of experience in training, education, research or related area.

Preferred qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals who possess:
  • Experience in training coordination or program management.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Education Center requirements, regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

Compensation
The annual salary is $54,867-$58,159. A competitive benefit package is included.

Class Summary
The Workforce Coordinator- OSHA plays a vital role in managing and overseeing operations of the OSHA Education Center. This position is responsible for coordinating training programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements, and providing support to instructors and students. The coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders to promote safety education and enhance workplace safety culture.

Typical Essential Duties
  • Develop, implement, and manage OSHA training programs and courses.
  • Reporting/Coordinating with OTE in Chicago and Consortium Partners.
  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, and resources for training sessions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students, instructors, and external partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, certifications, and compliance.
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials to promote OSHA training offerings.
  • Stay updated on OSHA regulations and best practices in safety training.
  • Provide administrative support, including budgeting and reporting.

Physical Requirements
The Workforce Coordinator- OSHA will work in an office setting but may also travel to training locations as needed. A commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment is essential.

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
